Yet another update for Disk Index Maker. From now on the search results stay available even if you switch to the folder panel and the advanced searches file size field supports decimal numbers. Download it now!
January 11, 2010
Small yet silly mistake
To cut a long story short: Disk Index Maker won't exit with a type mismatch when you try to access a disk's comment.
January 1, 2010
Happy new year everyone! The year 2010 begins with some changes made to to the website.
The forum has been closed down, effective immediately, for not being highly frequented, causing us to not catch every new post in an acceptable amount of time. Its successor is the new kind-of-guestbook web form.
And now some quite uninteresting details: The website has been reworked to not use frames any more. Even if the pages look as always, the inner workings have been refined. All pages are written in valid HTML and CSS now.
Update for an update and Windows 7
There was a bug in the last update that prevented compatibility to previous versions. A bunch of other bugs got fixed, the highlight being the files list won't flicker any more.
For it has not been mentioned the last time, it will be made up for now: Disk Index Maker is compatible to Windows 7 and even uses some of the operating system's new functions like the progress bar on the task bar button.

Important update for Disk Index Maker
The newest update for Disk Index Maker corrects some very nasty bugs which affect every disk added by the previous version. Installing the update is strongly recommended.
On adding comments were saved wrongfully and some ID3 tags could not be read. Besides, the alphabetical disk sort mode and finding disks or folders are fixed. These and many more changes are listed in the change log.
October 6, 2009
Disk Index Maker 2.6
There it goes again! Disk Index Maker has been reworked. The database format has been updated to improve browsing speed and a new alternative search function helps you to find similar files if a disk is indispensible at the moment.
Now we call it Disk Index Maker 2.6 and you can download it right away.
September 14, 2009
A wonderful day
Even if the additions in today's update for Disk Index Maker would not make a nice high gloss magazine cover photo, some handy stuff happened.
Disk Index Maker will create a temporary copy of the opened index only if there are changes to be made. This will greatly improve in case you open large indices merely for browsing. A working copy is created the first time you edit the index, of course.
Furthermore the file list is virtual now. Technically spoken, this really speeds up displaying contents – even for thousands of files. The progress indicator that showed up in the status bar when displaying a large amount of files and slowed down tremendously towards the end is gone.
Disk Index Maker is faster by orders of magnitude and now as handy as it has never been before.
May 20, 2009
A small update for the new Disk Index Maker
Nothing happened for a long time and then yet another update arrives. A bug in Disk Index Maker that snuck in is fixed.
May 9, 2009
Disk Index Maker and Windows Vista
Another update for Disk Index Maker now supports the User Account Control for Windows Vista and generally improves the application. Not quite so interesting for international users: now the help file is available in German, too.
October 31, 2008
A scary tradition
Today is the day of fright and horror, not just for the little ones: World Savings Day. On a different note: Besides some website changes we today uphold a long tradition that we introduced in 2002 and that hasn't been maintained ever since: A preview image.
October was really quite productive and Synchrotron is getting better and a lot faster. For it is quite difficult to show that in pictures, we show you a small overview of some of the newest, mostly optical improvements without giving away what they are.
Do you have more ideas for features? Send us an email. We usually don't bite.
October 6, 2008
Best update for a long time
Synchrotron gets better every day. All new are the support of higher DPI settings, item sorting like in Windows XP or Vista, the flagging of failed synchronisations and the advanced folder selection. More about the two scores of changes is listed here.
September 14, 2008
Disk Index Maker updated
Disk Index Maker is readier for Windows Vista now. Some improvements have been made and two bugs have been fixed.
July 7, 2008
Synchrotron 2.1 - Now actually usable
Synchrotron now aged one has gotten some improvements to make it more pleasant to work with. When synchronising frequently you no longer have to reload the entire folder's contents for Synchrotron can detect changes to files by itself and just reread the affected files automatically. Furthermore this update gives you the opportunity to preview all planned file actions for every singe synchronisation mode, which can now be selected using a drop-down list on the toolbar.
- Preview file actions for each synchronisation mode
- Automatically watch the file system for changed files and reread just the changed ones
- Customize the appearance of the files list faster using the new View menu
- Clicking a file entry shows information, how and why a file will be synchronized
As a special gift even without registration no restrictions will apply to the light version until the end of August. So download, synchronize and have fun.
June 4, 2008
The third update for Synchrotron adds a few things and removes a few bugs. The look in Windows Vista and for the blue Windows XP Luna style has been reworked (see some pixels). You'll find more definitive information in the change log.
Work on the next update has begun already: One or two relatively significant changes will be included. Stay tuned!
March 5, 2008
Disk Index Maker 2.5

Security Advisor overhauled
Quite irrelevant, for an English version has not been released yet and there isn't even an English product page, but the Security Advisor has been updated. See the product page for the new screenshots.
September 14, 2007
The first update for the new version of Synchrotron has been released, including a bunch of improvements. Most importantly an English language version has been added. List entries can be sorted now and some corrections have been made. The change log might help you out on the other changes.
September 1, 2007
The improbable occured
After almost four years of inactivity and in contrary to previous announcements, PowerTweax xp has been updated to reflect current conditions. Definitively even more interesting should be the fact, that registration is no longer needed and PowerTweax xp therefore is considered freeware with full functionality now. Further updates will still be improbable.
Where there's light, there's also shadow
It has been nearly three years ago the last update for Custom Folder has been released. Therefore Custom Folder now follows earlier applications already residing in outdated status.
August 25, 2007
Again, the homepage has been updated. The graphics are a little bit more modern and no longer limited to a few colors.
August 23, 2007
Disk Index Maker update
Yet another update for Disk Index Maker. This time the setup process has been radically simplified. Windows Vista won't display registration errors anymore and the program should install without problems. Furthermore, some unintuitive idiosyncrasies of the application have been fixed. The help file got a mostly cosmetic update. More information are listed in the change log, the new version is available on its download page.

Announcing Synchrotron 2.0
After nearly endless development time, a new version of Synchrotron has been released today. The application has been overhauled completely and offers a new user interface and uncountable other functions among the ability to use FTP folders, too. This website for instance has been uploaded by Synchrotron since last autumn. Go to the reworked product page and have a look at the screenshots or to download the new version.
July 2, 2007
New update for Disk Index Maker
Yet another update for Disk Index Maker has been released. But this one's so small, it isn't even worthwhile to change the introduction sentence.
Another one for Synchrotron
Even Synchrotron has been updated. The setup accounts for Windows Vista, the rest is purely cosmetical crap.
January 16, 2007
New update for Disk Index Maker
Yet another update for Disk Index Maker has been released. Aside from some corrections there's a small repair function, that might restore a corrupted Index. In addition, the application is more robust now, in case some index tables are missing.

Security Advisor ready
Some time has passed since the last post, as it seems to be usual on this page. Security Advisor left beta state with no further changes made except for the removal of the beta notice.
Christoph requested the removal of his applications from our website. Therefore the file listing program File Lister 2 and the still in development IRC client Jaic Wain are not downloadable anymore and their respective product pages have been removed. The forums have been edited in correspondance also.

Security Advisor Beta online
Today we released a Beta version of the
Securits Advisor, a progam that checks several possible weaknesses of your computer and gives tips to fix security vulnerabilities. The freeware application supports Windows XP but is available in German only.
The application is a beta version, which means, it is still in development and may contain errors. Some things may change until final release in near future. If you found errors or want to tell us what you think about it, feel free to write an email.
June 12, 2006
Advance notice: New tool
In the next days we'll release a new application concerning computer security. The tool has been in development for some time now and will start as an public beta. The final version shouldn't take very long to complete.
Much needed changes
As announced some days ago, much needed changes have been conducted. Most of them were under the hood, but a few can be spotted easily.
Applications that have not been cultivated for a long time are marked to be out-of-date. Computer Lock is as obsolete as Windows ME and PowerTweax xp will not be developed any further. Both of our oldest programs, mp3 Index Maker and Operation Blitz Krieg are marked as out-of-date, too. Likewise, even if still in shallow development, Jaic Wain has not been updated in over three years. All of these programs will still be around and can be downloaded furthermore.
If you visit us via direct link from an external site, all navigational elements will be displayed although. Last but not least, our page counter will not display any popups containing advertisements anymore.
June 1, 2006
Finally an update and some info
Today version 1.2 of Synchrotron has been brought online, which corrects some bugs and adds the ability to acutually select another language in options dialog.
For some time this place has been a bit flat on new stuff. It seems I'm the last semi-active here. In the next few days there will be some changes to accomodate for this.
November 17, 2005
Disk Index Maker update refresh
The recently released update for Disk Index Maker has been reworked. Another debug line has been removed and a tooltip has been corrected.
November 4, 2005
For your information
Good news and bad news this time. Bad news first: The latest version of Disk Index Maker contained forgotten code that didn't belong there. Therefore the app crashed. Now the good news: I forgot to update the update file though, so there should be only a small number of victims. By the way: A new version is available; the changelog is over here.
October 13, 2005
At least something new
It's not that much going on here. Since the Abitur i've got some work to be done and my new exercise course for my study began this Monday. Therefore I release another update for Disk Index Maker which contains all already working changes. I could not find time to do other planned features, but when I get some spare time, I will make up for that. All changes can be viewed here.
May 1, 2005
Two updates this time, info
It has been a long time since the last update, because I got some work to do for my other life. Now we have got two updates for our applications. Synchrotron got some improvements (there will be more, as soon as I have more spare time). Furthermore Disk Index Maker did get some attention in the form of small changes.
And some news for all the friends of Jaic Wain, the IRC client: After a long time Christoph has begun to resume work on version 0.2.1. More stuff soon.
February 20, 2005

Maybe to be considered useful: Custom Folder Update!
After diverse days of plain fear, we released the next update for our Folder-Hit Custom Folder today. Today, the most diverse day of all, lightweight-features have been added like a German documentation (Since you are reading the English news article, this shouldn't be interesting at all.) All changes and additions can be found in the version history, which strangely isn't linked to from this article. An overview of this program can as always be found here.

Some update info
Our new tool Custom Folder has just been updated. Now the display problems in classic Windows style should be gone. This problem could cause the program not to run at all on Windows versions prior to Windows XP.
Three days ago Microsoft released a new service pack for Visual Studio, which is followed by a new runtime version. We updated our stuff, too. If you want to get the latest runtimes, download them here.
March 17, 2004

Yet another update for Disk Index Maker has been released. No new features this time, but some bugfixes have been done. Nothing critical though. By now you should know the link to the product page. By not typing it again I have some spare time for writing unneccessary stuff like this sentence.

Because of the application being a big pile of not-so-good-stuff, we decided to pretend it's never existed. It has never existed! If anyone tells you there's been a program named SecureStart, this guy's propably a damn liar! Besides, this action proves we have a quality standard. At least that's some good news.

Christoph, who had to suspend the development of his Java IRC client Jaic Wain, just continued working on it. In the course of doing that, he put together a nice little website just for his IRC client. You'll find it over here. The new website is finally online!
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away there was the idea to recreate the whole Homepage. Right now you can see the result on your monitor. We tried to modernize the look and make it even more complicated to use. At the moment not all of our applications are back online, so revisit us often (at least 10 times per hour).
We would like to thank you for passing by and hope you will enjoy our stuff.
